In partnership with The Shrewsbury Half Marathon we delivered live coverage from the course and 1.3 Million Branded Page views for UK Sports Chat by the next day, giving the event the social media presence of a much larger event.
Working with Threshold Sports on their 100km two day epic Race to the Stones almost 3 Million branded page views were seen over the duration of the event and by the end of the Tuesday afterwards, much to the delight of the organisers and sponsors.
Working on a 9 day Land’s End to John O’Groats mass participation cycle ride, Pic2Go technology was used to post images as progress updates to Facebook for friends and family of participants throughout the challenge. On each day from multiple locations images were uploaded to the Pic2Go system on 4G (and some 3G) mobile networks. Over 1.7million page views were made checking on how participants were doing throughout the challenge, and it provided a useful automated “I’m up to here now” service for the riders who were often quite busy just cycling the challenge.
Kelly’s organise Charity Runs and Sportive cycling and we regularly put images out whilst competitors and fundraisers are still out on the course, helping fundraisers to raise more money using the images as social proof of achievement.
In a different application to sporting events, at the Running Awards evening held at the O2, for 2015 and 2016 Pic2Go provided live social media engagement with winners and attendees to the event which always takes place on the key marathon weekend in April – giving the event a significant increase in social media presence on what is a busy weekend. Guests at the event had ID lanyards with their unique Pic2Go Barcodes on them, enabling them to register for and receive only their images on a busy celebratory evening, leaving them free to enjoy themselves and not permanently reaching for their smartphone to take poor quality pictures themselves !
Manx Telecom use Pic2Go as a key tool in communicating their sponsorship and support of the key community sporting events that take place on the Isle of Man – it’s a key demonstration of their 4G data coverage of the Isle showing the fast upload of images from across the course and producing excellent coverage and brand awareness, making their events almost impossible to ignore.
SAS events organise the Lighthouses challenge 103mile Sportive Cycle ride around the Isle as part of the competitor benefits and sponsorship package.
The OCR event of the Isle of Man, sponsored my Manx Telecom they asked for it to be included as part of their sponsorship of the event after their success on the Parish Walk – and it continues to deliver results, even in the tough and muddy conditions
The Warrior Run in 2015 added free photos to their competitor package, but decided to get them out live during the event to have the best social media impact on a popular OCR weekend. They had a 48hr advantage in social media chats and post-race communications compared to other events on the same day with normal photo sharing – helping them to dominate the online discussion during the day and into the beginning of the week – effortlessly.
